Based in Glasgow, Scotland, High Sheen is a label aiming to cultivate and push forward the musical talent that hails from our city and beyond.
Our debut release is a collaboration between three of the label’s resident artists – Mia Dora, HaHaHa & Raksha – who over the coming months will have their own EPs put to wax in their own rights. For now ‘High Sheen’ is the result, the eponymous song with which they have merged their three distinctive styles to create a piece of truly interesting club music that sets the tone for what we are all building towards in the future.
This track is designed for the dance floor; stuttered drums collide with the deepest of low ends, while frenetic organ stabs build into a driving force that keeps you guessing from start to finish.

‘Bloodshot Army comes from a more dark perspective, inspired by the endless hours I’ve spent watching old slasher movies and the heavy dub I’ve been listening to of late. I’m sure it will confuse those that wish to pigeon hole music; but hopefully it will titillate the ears of the open minded.’

The Allergies is the all-new production/DJ outfit from heavyweight disc jocks Rackabeat (Chai Wallahs) and DJ Moneyshot (Solid Steel). Drawing on such influences as Boca 45, Gramatik and RJD2, the pair aim to bring that vintage sound of sampled funk, psych, hip-hop and rock back to the forefront of club music. With remixes for Double Yellow (Tru Thoughts) on the way, and tracks lined up for a Riddim Fruit compilation, the duo can’t wait to gauge reactions to their new direction.
DJing live they take on two decks and efx, whipping through dope beats and funky breaks with skill and speed, looping on the fly and layering up acapellas to detonate dance floor dynamite. Almost every one of the artists is playing a Mixed Bizness party at some point in 2012 and this mix sums up where Benny Boom is at just now.
