With the British Isles celebrating Bonfire Night, (the occasion of a failed attempt to blow the timbers off the House of Lords, and explode King James I), our very own DJ Moneyshot observes this historic date with a themed mixtape fit to bursting with incendiary songs celebrating civil unrest. Before the Rozzers turn up we get an hour of punk, rock, beats, reggae, DnB, dubstep and hip-hop with tracks from Reso, The Ruts, Outkast, Foreigner, DJ Vadim and The Brookes Brothers and should be used as a soundtrack to a strong letter-writing campaign to you local MP. Pass the sparklers, and happy Bonfiring!

This week is an exciting week. Our HYP? residency at Glasgow’s famous Sub Club reaches the ripe old age of 4 years old. During that time we have welcomed a mammoth list of DJs and live acts for your musical entertainment and had a lot of fun along the way. From Chromeo to Fake Blood, Toddla T to Mary Anne Hobbs, we’ve kept them coming and you’ve shown nuff love as we go.
This month we’ve invited Glasgow’s renegade party starting crew Vitamins to throw a birthday bash in our honour. They’ve pulled out all the stops with a triple bill that’s sure to get you frothing at the mouth. Seiji, Objekt and Lando Kal will be jetting in to jam it down but for now we have one half of the Vitamins DJ crew, Shaun Fae Solar, with a live mix recorded recently on Subcity Radio to keep you keen. Get involved and see you at HYP X Vitamins - 4th Birthday Halloween Bashup.

It’s been a while since we have a new DJ mix from our number one batty winder Mr Benn. He’s a busy man so we don’t hold it against him. He’s not one to neglect us completely so he’s sent us this live recording of his set at the fantastic Shambala Festival on 28th August 2011. No tracklisting but you know the vibes come correct…
Hint is back with another DJ mix. Not only ius he one of our very favourite producers, he’s a bad man when manning the tables as well. By now you know the score, upfront awkward dance music mixed with style and precision. It’s just what he does. Keep it simple stupid…

Everyone knows there ain’t no party like a Parker party. The new ones he ripped for us at Club 520 in Glasgow and Reading Rooms in Dundee last week were testament to that. Not to mention the many other times he’s played for us, the international tour dates, festival slots and his super awesome ‘Did It…’ mixtape series. They call him party packing royalty and if the crown fits…
The man himself is never one to rest on his laurels and he’s back once again with a new chapter in his DJ mixes. The monkey, the butler…they may have done it but they’re long gone now. Let’s see what’s behind that bookcase…

Our man DJ NoFace is one of our favourite DJs. Lucky for us he’s also one of our residents. Life can be good like that sometimes. He’s been busy in the lab recording another fresh to death DJ mix for our heads and feet and this time he’s kept it oh so real and left his laptop in it’s bag. It’s vinyl only for that snap, crackle and POP. The tunes are upfront and mixed with typical precision and expertise but you know what to expect when NoFace steps up. Straight heaters, no messin.

Our boy S-Type has remixed duo 5kinandbone5 new single, “Stomp” ft. YG (Def Jam) - forthcoming on Sinden’s Grizzly label, October 2011. It’s crunk in yo system so get it cranked.
Parker has done it again! He’s been busy in the lab and has given his party starting touch of bass to a Kate Bush classic. Just in time for thee weekend too. This time he flips Kate Bush’s This Woman’s Work into a raved up, 90s break beat juggernaut that will set it off for real. Much like a woman’s work, Parker is never done…
Our main man Boom Monk Ben has recorded this all new DJ mix for our good friends over at Synth to promote the upcoming return of Jack Beats to How’s Your Party? at Sub Club in Glasgow. They seem to like it. You might too. It’s 29 tracks in just over an hour and goes this way then the next. Standard styles.
Check out the highlights from the Dirty Dubsters party smashing, good time skankin’ live set Electric Picnic 2011 on the Trenchtown stage, featuring Anton on sax and Jay on Percussion…
Dirty Dubsters feat Screechy Dan and Whandah - ‘Oh No’ - Out now on Irish Moss Records
Parker, our brother in bass, is set to launch his Monkey Butler label on February 13th with the first release coming from the man himself. Featuring long time collaborator Sarah Scott, he’s come correct with some future bass soul, the likes of which you’ve never heard. It’s sexy but tough, like the best Valentines Days. Check the preview and get to know. Pre-orders available from the links below…
Fremdtunes release their See-A-Sound compilation today. Featuring tracks from our own Soosh and the likes of Kelpe & Coco Bryce, you know it’s worth getting involved in. Check out the snippets and do the right thing…
Mr Benn is beginning 2012 in the only way he knows how. With a dancehall skank. He’s flipped the new Monkey Mafia single into a digital bounce off, just how we like it…
Soosh is our latest recruit and one of many of our names to watch in 2012. To get familiar with his styles, here’s a DJ mix he recorded late 2011 for Habitat events in Italy. It’s chilled, moody and enveloping. Just how we like our music when Soosh is handing it out.
Our main man and resident MC Profisee is set for a massive year. His album ‘From All Angles’ is set to drop and features collaborations with Neil Landstrumm, S-Type, Dam Mantle, AK Kids, Poirier, Nasty P, Scharkz and Dems. Yep, it’s sounding big but that should come as no surprise. Before the LP comes your way you can get your hands on this future anthem from all good record stores. It’s a jump up, synth led, grime inflected banger with a sing-a-long hook you wish you’d written. It’s released on digital and ltd 12″ on February 20th through Abaga Records.
Hint has a new video! This is the first single to be lifted from the Hint album ‘Daily Intake’, available on ltd edition 10” on 30th January 2012. ‘Daily Intake’ is available from 19th March 2012
Yes indeed, we’re on Mixcloud. You know what that means? It’s your one stop shop for DJ mixes from our extended crew. Boom Monk Ben, DJ Cheeba, Electrikal Collective, HaHaHa, David Heartbreak, Hint, The Leisure Allstars, Memory9, Mia Dora, DJ Moneyshot, Mr Benn, Mungo’s Hi-Fi, NoFACE, Parker, Point To C, Raksha, S-Type….you’re about to get spoilt for choice, that much is true. To kick things off we have Boom Monk Ben’s first mix of 2012. It’s on a straight house tip but with his usual to and fros, back and forths and ups and downs…
Mungo’s Hi-Fi get about a bit. That much we know. In October 2011 they paid New York City a visit and took it by storm. What else did they expect? It’s 47 minutes of serious dub pressure featuring nothing but Mungo’s cuts from beginning to end with exclusives, unreleased skankers and all those deep bass rumblers we know and love…
2012 is gearing up to me Hint’s year. His new album is set to drop on Tru Thoughts in March and from what we’ve heard so far, it’s his biggest and best yet. The first release to come from his 3rd long player will be a double A-side 10″ featuring two tracks of extreme dance floor bizness. Featuring the dancehall stylings of Kingston’s Natalie Storm and butter flow of Houston’s Fly-T, it’s the perfect way to kick things off in a new year. The vinyl is out on 30th January and the digital release follows on February 20th featuring remixes from Maddslinky, Belleruche, Lanu, Darq E Freaker, Hidden Orchestra and Hint himself. They’re kept under wraps for now but here’s a preview of the main event to keep you guessing…
We keep them coming from DJ Moneyshot today with another jaw dropping DJ mix to get down and all the way round with. The good people at the Ninja Mix Dump asked him to do a mashup of some of his best mixes for their mixmas special, here’s the results. Ultimate mixtape, much?

In 2011 our man DJ Moneyshot gets around. Last year he hooked up with the party starting Chai Wallahs crew and did the rounds of every major UK festival over the summer. Highlights were smashing a 2000 person tent at Green Man while masses of kids climbed the poles and went bezerk and killing it to the max at Beach Break Festival. Check out the video to see how they do and get ready for more of the same in 2012…
Ok, we know…SoundCloud isn’t anything new and everyone in the Mixed Bizness crew has had one for time but we figured we might as well get a collective on the go so you can keep tabs on us all in one handy place. Check it out for official releases, remixes, exclusive previews and free downloads from all our artists.
Mia Dora are the latest addition to our ever expanding family of artists. 2012 is set to be a big year for them with their debut release on new label High Sheen already making waves amongst the dance floor elite. We’ve not only booked them alongside The 2 Bears and Disclosure for a set at out next HYP? event at Sub Club, but we have also enlisted them to record this epic promo mix to get the juices flowing in anticipation. It’s 38 tracks deep and goes this way then that. We couldn’t have hoped for a better way to start 2012. Let’s go…
Our friends at LuckyMe have been busy spreading festive cheer throughout December with their goodie laden musical advent calendar. This week saw our man S-Type get involved with a typically fizzing beat entitled ‘Bairns’. It’s a big one so stick in your stockings and pop some corks….
Parker’s remix of Diego & The Dissidents’ ‘Cosmic Dust’ is out now. He’s flipped the original into a down tempo bass monster in the way he’s been known to do…
Clash Magazine and Gio Goi have joined forces to bring a free party to the people of Glasgow. They’ve booked DJ Yoda and our very own Boom Monk Ben. It’s on Thursday 8th December at Sub Club. It all adds up. We’ll see you there.
Check out this fresh DJ mix from Benny Boom to get you bubbling ahead of time…
It’s been in the offing for a while now but as promised, here’s Parker’s remix of the Bjork classic ‘Venus As A Boy’. It’s a bass heavy grizzler that keeps it tasteful but pulls no punches. Get your download on…
Is it that time of year already?! Yes, yes it is! Our main man DJ Cheeba has been locked in his DJ dungeon for what seems like an eternity, working hard on his all new audio visual mixtape. Unsurprisingly it’s not far off being the best thing ever. Yeah, we said it. What of it?!
Our man on the ragga front line Mr Benn has whipped up this bass heavy 110bpm roller of a remix for Dresden’s Jazz K. Lipa. It’s bumps along in his usual party starting style. You know you’re in safe hands with Mr Benn. It’s out now so do the right ting…
Check out this rocking mix from the Dirty Dubsters with live MC action & a selection of un-released tracks coming up soon on Irish Moss records. It’s a fresh exclusive for the Bodytonic Podcast series but we thought we’d help spread the word. Get ‘pon the download now…
