As many of you will know we will be relaunching the Mixed Bizness Thursdays at Glasgow School of Art on September 16th complete with four brand spanking new resident DJs alongside Benny Boom. As well as the Monk with the Funk, you can expect your heads and feet to be turned inside out by MGCK, Point To C, NoFace and Djamba on the regular. As four of Scotland's very best young DJs we are more than happy to have them on our team. They all have their own unique styles that compliment each other and us perfectly.

“Beryllium”, in conjunction with Soundcloud, features three new tracks (including Gallop Track, which is available worldwide as a free download for a limited period) plus two brand new beats for a vocalist competition, the winner of which will get a worldwide release on Tru Thoughts.

Hint - Gallop Track (Link To Soundcloud) - Free Download!

August 30th sees the newest release from Hint on Tru Thoughts…

“Beryllium”, in conjunction with Soundcloud, features three new tracks (including Gallop Track, which is available worldwide as a free download for a limited period) plus two brand new beats for a vocalist competition, the winner of which will get a worldwide release on Tru Thoughts.

The lead track, “Give It Up” channels the summer sounds currently being given a fresh lick of paint by the likes of Dam Funk and Onra - 80s electro, disco and boogie. Lightning bolt synth stabs are applied to perfectly rounded bass line melodies with Honor Roll Crew’s Josie Stingray and 1-O.A.K raising the temperature to steaming HOT.

“Pretty Stable” is halfway between DJ Zinc’s self-coined Crack House genre and the UK Funky flavours that are rocking dancefloors nationwide. “Gallop Track” is a tough house roller with massive drops. All the tracks are made/composed from scratch with no samples, with Hint playing every part.

For the competition Tru Thoughts have uploaded parts for two new cuts to Soundcloud for entrants to download and add their own vocals. The initial judging will be done by Hint and Tru Thoughts A&R Robert Luis, with the final ten tracks also being judged by Quantic, Alice Russell, The Bamboos and Belleruche, all leading to the exciting prize for the winning vocalist of a worldwide release with Hint on Tru Thoughts.

For further information about the remix competition check http://remix.tru-thoughts.co

Comprised of two youngsters, Calum MacLeod and Liam Roberton, Clouds are the latest and freshest to emerge from the seemingly bottomless pool of electronic musical talent that Scotland has to offer.

Drawing on influences as diverse as Animal Collective and Green Velvet, their musical dexterity is more than apparent in their musical creations, joining the dots between driving electro, bumping house and crunching techno, all the while retaining a musicality and longevity often found lacking in much of today’s disposable club music. Their low-frequency, bass-driven tracks are sure to give any crowd their money’s-worth and their ever growing list of suitors is testament to that.

Despite their limited output they have managed to attract the attention of some of the biggest and best names in club music, making ardent fans out of the likes of Tiga, Fake Blood, Proxy and Boys Noize. With upcoming releases for Fake Blood’s new label, a forthcoming EP for Turbo Recordings as well as an entry on their newest compilation CD as well as an inclusion on Boys Noize’s recent DJ Mag mix CD, the next few months look set to be the making of Clouds. The sky is the limit…
